Bamford – Great Tor walk
** The route goes through Bamford Clough, considered one of the steepest roads in the UK/world, so we’ll go slowly and take breaks, but it is worth noting in advance**
The walk will start at 10.50 am from the Bamford train station to give everyone a chance to get there.
RSVP ends a day before the walk.
The weather looks like it’s going to be sunny on Saturday but it is usually windy (and cold) up in the hills so it is worth it to have/bring a wind/rainproof jacket.
Please wear appropriate hiking/trail walking shoes. No trainers/canvas/casual shoes.
Bring drinking water. And some snackables too if you want.
If you have any light and extra portable first aid kits, those are okay to bring along.
This is not a certified-guide-led walk so you will be joining of your own volition. There is no guarantee or insurance included.
The walk
The planned route is just over 10km and goes by Great Tor, the Ladybower Viaduct and the Yorkshire Bridge in a loop back to the train station.
